DNS - Gomez Launches U.S.Retail Banking Web and Mobile Industry Benchmarks

Compuware (News - Alert) Corporation’s web performance division at Gomez announced the launch of new U.S.Retail Banking web and mobile industry benchmarks for providing a comprehensive and unbiased view of the state of web and mobile site performance.

According to company sources Gomez’ U.S. retail banking web and mobile performance benchmarks will be expanded by including more metrics from more dimensions to provide a comprehensive and insightful view of web and mobile performance.

Also these multiple dimensions are aggregated into a single rank for the U.S. retail banking web and mobile performance Indices. The rank given will be consolidating multiple test results and will enable retail banks to easily compare their performance with respect to competitors.

The expanded Gomez U.S. retail banking web and mobile benchmarks will include US Banking Account Details Business Process Benchmark that measures the response time, success rate, and consistency of a typical multistep process besides reviewing bank account summary and details.

The US Banking Home Page Benchmark - Internet Explorer will measure the response time, success rate, and consistency of a home page using an Internet Explorer browser agent. The US Banking Home Page Benchmark - Last Mile (News - Alert) will measure the response time, success rate, and consistency of a home page as experienced by real consumer-grade computers connected through broadband Internet.

The US Mobile Banking Home Page Benchmark will measure the performance of mobile-specific versions of bank Web sites. Also it was revealed that each benchmark consists of measurements taken by one of four carrier and device combinations including AT&T & iPhone, Sprint & HTC Hero, T-Mobile & HTC Dream and Verizon (News - Alert) & Droid.

In a release Matt Poepsel, vice president of performance strategies, Gomez said, “Today’s retail banks are challenged to provide comprehensive, customizable, dynamic web and mobile sites that are also extraordinarily fast and seamless.”

“The “rank of ranks” website and mobile indices, which establish a new industry standard for delivering superior web experiences, are the first in the industry to provide retail banks with a fast, top-line view into how their Web or mobile sites are performing across multiple dimensions in comparison to their competitors,” Poepsel added.

Gomez has increased its global web performance benchmarks to over a 100. These benchmarks are used to test target companies by using a subset of the Gomez Network which feature over 150 high-bandwidth “backbone” locations and more than 150,000 actual end-user “Last Mile” locations. Gomez Business Process benchmarks measure typical multistep processes including actions like purchasing a product or performing a stock trade across major brands in the same industry, explained company sources.
