DNS - Red Oxygen Steps in When Peanut Labs Cry 'Fraud'

Peanut Labs, a leading provider of research and monetization services for social media and gaming companies has entered into a venture, whereby it will leverage RedOxygen's technology to eliminate potential fraud in the gaming process.

RedOxygen, one of the world’s leading SMS gateways and developers of text messaging software, made an announcement to this effect.

Not only does Peanut Labs help developers monetize their games through virtual currency, but also provides a payment processing service that reduces the burden of gaming companies by obviating the need to manage vast amounts of payment formats around the world.

Murtaza Hussain, president of Peanut Labs said that in the absence of security measures, almost 50 percent of a gaming publisher's transactions for intangible goods could turn out to be fraudulent, and hence it was necessary to eliminate that risks to protect customers. Working with RedOxygen would help identify risky transactions and block them.

Payments from customer are run through engines to measure risk factors and based on the outcome, Peanut Labs decides to either accept or decline a payment or in some cases it flags the transaction for further review.

RedOxygen comes into the picture in the case of transactions that are flagged and cause text messages to be sent to the purchaser's mobile phone. Peanut Labs analyze the provided pin number that the users input and conclude whether the transaction is legitimate or not.

The SMS Gateway (News - Alert) technology used by RedOxygen allows Peanut Labs to send text messages to any mobile device that is text enabled, regardless of which provider the consumer uses for mobile service.

“This review process used to be completely manual which, as you can imagine, required a great deal of time and resources,” continued Hussain. “With Red Oxygen’s (News - Alert) secure and reliable service, we can now keep our own costs in check while ensuring protection from fraud for our customers.”

Tom Sheahan.of RedOxygen found that customers such as Peanut Labs, leveraged text messaging technology for many innovative uses beyond just mobile marketing, which is typically associated with SMS and business.

Sheahan expounded on the convenience, immediacy and efficiency of text messaging and said that it provided endless possibilities for improving business and customer service practices through enhanced communication processes.

RedOxygen combines the power of e-mail applications, instant messaging clients or CRM applications with the convenience and mobility of text messaging, Red Oxygen’s products allow users to send text messages to specific individuals or entire lists.

In a related news release, RedOxygen is bringing the speed, security and convenience of text messaging to healthcare companies around the world. Businesses such as Austin's Brightstar (News - Alert), Siemens Medical Solutions and Pfizer rely on RedOxygen to mobilize workforces and communicate with employees without interrupting important activity.
