DNS - UC4 Software Expands Virtualization Automation Capabilities

UC4 Software, a provider of Intelligent Service Automation and IT process optimization solutions, has announced a new Rapid Automation package for Microsoft (News - Alert) Hyper-V.

The new RA package, which builds out UC4's Automated Virtualization solutions portfolio, combines the UC4 V8 Automation Engine, new UC4 Agent for Hyper-V and fast-start process templates. It allows customers to automate the deployment and management of applications and business-critical processing in virtual environments.

'Automation plays a critical role in helping customers maintain control over their virtual environments, particularly as the number of virtual machines increases,' stated Vincent Stueger, CTO, UC4 Software.

'With UC4 and Hyper-V, customers benefit from the cost savings of virtualization and have the assurance their business processes are completed at the right time, every time,' Stueger adds.

UC4 Rapid Automation packages combine the UC4 V8 Automation Engine, application-specific agents, and fast-start process templates to simplify deployment and reduce operating cost.

The UC4 Agent for Microsoft Hyper-V, in the Rapid Automation package allows users to integrate application and operating system processes running in physical and virtual environments into a single process flow, dynamically configure and provision virtual machines to manage peak loads, and integrate Hyper-V-based virtual environments into existing administrative processes and enforce process dependencies.

'Virtualization is enabling customers to create agile IT environments that better serve the needs of the business,' explains David Greschler, director of Virtualization Strategy at Microsoft Corp. 'Using UC4, Microsoft virtualization customers have additional tools to improve the confidence that their virtual infrastructure can dynamically meet their processing requirements.'

UC4 transports the workload automation policies (including job scheduling, application integration, backup, maintenance, and file transfer) from physical to virtual computing infrastructure, all as one coherent process flow. It gives the convenience of managing both the virtual and physical environments from one comprehensive enterprise platform. And, by eliminating the manually intensive administrative tasks that accompany virtual server creation, it makes it much faster and easier to create new virtual machines.

With UC4 creating a seamless interaction between the physical and virtual server environments, customers maximize virtualized server investment, saving time, power, and money.

UC4  benefits for server virtualization automation includes dynamic process management across physical and virtual environments, immediate integration of new systems into existing automation, backup, and maintenance strategies, and optimal usage of your existing infrastructure, giving you extra capacity at peak times.
