DNS - Ensim Simplifies Windows 2008 Event Logging Process

Ensim (News - Alert) Corporation has introduced a new tool to simplify the Windows 2008 event logging process. Named as Ensim Unify Audit Manager, the solution achieves this goal by auditing all critical changes to Active Directory domain services and group policy.

Created for Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2, Ensim Unify Audit Manager serves as a location-independent, lightweight auditing solution for security administrators and auditors.

The solution includes a centralized collection store and a Web front-end that is ideal for environments using the next generation of Active Directory. Administrators and audit team members can use this solution to access a centralized audit management system without requiring installation of client software.

This solution has stirred interest in many companies such as FreshDirect. Robert Marte, director of technology services at this company said that their firm was searching for a solution to streamline the management of their Windows infrastructure, and was pleased to find Ensim offering an affordable solution to help them with FreshDirect's infrastructure compliance and security.

Scott Young (News - Alert), vice president of marketing and product management at Ensim, said that system administrator is responsible for diagnosing and correcting the mishap when an employee makes unauthorized changes.

This correction can take several hours to identify and according to Young, there has been an increasing need in the market to fill the price/performance gap and effectively track changes in Active Directory since Quest took over NetPro.

"Ensim Unify Audit Manager fills this gap by providing an affordable solution that builds upon and improves the capabilities of Windows Server 2008 audit and event logging, making it easy to identify what changes were made and by whom," Young said.

Ensim Unify Audit Manager includes a number of key features including an enterprise-scalable architecture that can be easily deployed in small or large enterprises; an efficient audit and search engine optimized for SQL; built-in reports that provide detailed user information for any critical changes made to Active Directory.

It also features on-demand or scheduled reports that provide best-of-breed tools for the security administrator or auditor; and non-intrusive agents that work in conjunction with Windows Event Logs.
