Centrify Corporation Debuts Centrify Suite 2011 Security and Compliance Solution



Centrify, a provider of integrated software solutions that centrally control, secure and audit access to cross-platform systems and applications, released the Centrify Suite 2011, the latest version of the company’s flagship security and compliance product.

According to the company, the Centrify Suite 2011 contains features that enable it to offer improved administration and privilege management capabilities for UNIX/Linux/Mac systems, expanded platform coverage and additional application single sign-on capabilities. This lets users to have finer grain control and auditing over an expanded set of data center systems and enterprise applications.

Built on a common architecture, the Centrify Suite of solutions helps improve IT efficiency, strengthen regulatory compliance initiatives and secure one’s heterogeneous computing environment.

Key components of the Centrify Suite include integrated authentication, access control, role-based privilege management, user-level auditing and server protection solutions, consisting of Centrify DirectControl, Centrify DirectAuthorize, Centrify DirectAudit, Centrify DirectSecure and Centrify DirectManage.

The company claimed that major organizations have deployed Centrify’s cost-effective approach to access control, privilege management and auditing of their physical and virtual infrastructure.

Centrify Suite 2011 includes new capabilities in the following areas: Enhanced Linux desktop management including Gnome Group Policies; Enhanced desktop management features for Mac OS X; Centralized local UNIX and Linux account management with Centrify DirectManage; Expanded platform support for operating systems; Enhanced IBM (News - Alert) AIX support; Enterprise-class Dynamic Domain Controller and DNS Selection; SAP NetWeaver Support; Centrify-enabled OpenSSH Upgrade; and more.

Centrify officials commented that companies are becoming very aware of the regulatory and efficiency benefits in consolidating to a single identity repository such as Active Directory.
