Neustar Inc. provides services that enable trusted communication across networks applications, and enterprises around the world. Today, Neustar announced its new Intelligent Cloud Service.
Neustar was created 15 years ago with its business core being to enable number portability. In October former Chief Operating Officer Lisa Hook became CEO, and began to drive Neustar in a more aggressive direction.
Today marks a huge day for Neustar as it revealed its new service, as well as the iPhone became available to customers on the Verizon (News

Neustar currently has the key role of running the system that enables all the consumers within the U.S. market to maintain their phones numbers when they decide to move to a different carrier.
Neustar is a fully trusted third party that always maintains full confidentiality. In the last few years, Neustar has grown substantially connecting people to people to operators in order to interoperate more efficiently.
Neustar believes there is currently a need for a single, secure, and simplified connection point between content providers, application developers, solution providers, and mobile operators because the company spends a lot of time talking to people within the mobile marketing space who are always looking for ways to simplify life, and make their jobs easier.
The Intelligent Cloud Service Mobile operator works as a go between, enabling huge name providers such Verizon, Sprint, T mobile, and AT&T (News
- Alert) a way of allowing you to monetize info on network, acting as a ‘one stop shop’ which effectively takes away the headache of working with multiple operators.
Mobile marketing operators now have access to personal customer information, all in one database. Each customer has a personalized profile showing which geographical location they live in so marketing operators can offer location related membership rewards, as well as see types of devices they usually purchase and give incentives to buy related products.
Operators simply link back to these CRM systems to look at the data. VP of marketing for Carrier Services at Neustar, Jean Foster said, “it is all about really being able to target the user in very effective way, rather than very broadbrush marketing.”
The system works as a software development framework offering a platform with protocols for each different type of service. For example, Verizon can go to aservice portal where they identify which services from which providers a customer buys and then can create an application on the portal.
This new service is extremely focused on making sure user’s data does not get compromised. For instance with the mobile marketing application, there is a two step authentication process that requires customers to agree to opt in, and then must verify it through a text back.
The service does not work like ordinary marketing, which gives out data to anyone. Foster commented, “the information allowed to be viewed is what you opt into or comply with.”
Pricing for the Intelligent Cloud Service depends on the type of information the carriers desire: messages will be one price, while billing to operators will come at a different price set. The price of this service is specially tailored to individual carriers, Foster said.
Neustar compared its new product to a Web 2.0- like solution as anybody can develop to it, and you don’t need specific protocol to be able to work alongside the platform. Standard principals and interfaces allow for easy user access.
Neustar decided to unveil this new Intelligent Cloud Service as they continued to identify a huge gap and opportunity within the industry. It also happens that the market timing is a perfect fit.
Neustar will be showcasing its new Intelligent Cloud Service at the Mobile World Congress (News - Alert) from Feb. 11-17 in Barcelona, which is the biggest mobile event on the planet; expecting up to 53,000 people to be in attendance.
