Anite Enhances Market Position with CommScope's Test Solutions

Anite (News - Alert) supplies test and measurement tools under the Nemo product brand. Through its Network Testing business based in Oulu, Finland, it has acquired CommScope's wireless test and measurement product line.  

As a result of the sale, Anite will acquire CommScope's Andrew solutions, the Invex wireless test and measurement product portfolio and all existing customer commitments. In addition, approximately 20 percent of the employees who work directly for the Invex product line will now work for Anite, while the remainder will remain with CommScope's Andrew solutions. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. The sale was completed on Jan. 7.

In a press release, John Baker, vice president and general manager, Andrew Network Solutions (News - Alert), said that Invex products were in use around the world by many wireless operators and in a consolidating test and measurement industry, they were confident that a combination of Invex and the strong Anite testing solutions would provide greater options and stronger support for the company's customers in the future.

Jukka Honkila, managing director of Anite’s Network Testing business believed the Invex product line to be a strategic add-on that would enhance the market position of Anite, a provider of test solutions for 2G, 3G and LTE (News - Alert) wireless technologies. The company planned to integrate the acquired Andrew measurement tools as part of the Nemo portfolio in the near future, offering in the process one of the strongest and most versatile tool platforms available for Anite's and Andrew's customers.

“Andrew’s measurement tools are an excellent addition to our already strong Nemo product portfolio, and with the new wider product range, we are well positioned to address the broad demands of wireless networks’ measurements from standard KPI collection to fully fledged benchmarking and advanced post analysis,” said Honkila, in a statement.

In other company news, Anite received the First LTE Conformance Certification in December.
