DNS - tw telecom Collaborates with NORAD to Track Santa



Once again, Santa Claus will be tracked by tw telecom in collaboration with the North American Aerospace Defense Command or NORAD in Colorado Springs, Colo. Families will be able to monitor Santa Claus as he travels the globe delivering toys to boys and girls around the world this Christmas Eve. The movements of Santa Claus can be tracked by families via the annual "NORAD Tracks Santa" program. An announcement in this regard has been made by the top provider of managed voice, Internet and data networking solutions for businesses, tw telecom (News - Alert).

In a release, Joyce Creech, NORAD Tracks Santa project lead said, "For more than a half century, trackers at the 'NORAD Tracks Santa' Operations Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., have monitored Santa's movements and relayed them to the tens of thousands of curious children that called inquiring about Santa's whereabouts."

Creech added that it is important that the communication partners of the organization are able to accommodate the enormous demands of the many families who rely on NORAD to track Santa. NORAD is pleased that tw telecom is able to provide the necessary resources. These will help to manage the expected number of calls.

In a release, Rick Corbett, who is the VP and GM of tw telecom said, "NORAD and Peterson Air Force Base utilize tw telecom's local voice services for critical communications and we're glad to participate in the 'NORAD Tracks Santa' program again this year."

Corbett added that seamless communications will be ensured by the company. The company’s technicians will be on 24-hour alert and will work closely with the NORAD and Petersen Air Force Base Task Force. The most up-to-date information on Santa’s location will be therefore provided to every child who will call the 'NORAD Tracks Santa' hotline.

Families can call 1-877-Hi-NORAD or 1-877-446-6723 to track Santa. Families can also track Santa by visit the "NORAD Tracks Santa" Web site at www.noradsanta.org. Information in seven languages namely English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Japanese and Chinese is provided by the web site. Families can track Santa's journey and see his exact location using the Google Earth link beginning December 24th. Santa can also be followed by the families on Facebook (News - Alert) and Twitter.
