Neustar Announces the Launch of Intelligent Cloud Service

Neustar, a provider of solutions and directory services to enable trusted communication across networks, announced the launch of Neustar Intelligent Cloud services.

With the new Intelligent Cloud, operators will get the cloud service that offers a single, secure and simplified connection point between content providers, application developers, solution providers and mobile operators, company officials said.

As a hosted service, this innovative platform will streamline the communications, network features, and billing across operators.

The Neustar Intelligent Cloud will offer scale and reduce the complexity of delivering the right message at the right time.

“In the spirit of innovation and solving the real-world challenges for our customers, weare bringing the Neustar Intelligent Cloud to market, which will change the mobileservice creation paradigm,” said Steve Edwards, senior vice president, Carrier Services, for Neustar, in a statement.

Neustar will associate with operators to offer a Web 2.0-like solution that will help operators securely publish standard application programming interfaces (APIs) and other information to the mobile cloud.

“With billions of mobile subscribers and connected devices, the mobile ecosystem isgrowing rapidly and has reached the scale where it is no longer possible to createoperator specific services,” said Elisabeth Rainge, director, IDC (News - Alert), in a statement. “The Neustar Intelligent Cloud is an efficient and sophisticated approach to an industry challenge that has been constraining innovation and revenue models.”

There will be no need to structure multiple agreements or develop services in disparate network environments. The Neustar Intelligent Cloud is a OneAPI (News - Alert) compliant service that will have functionalities such as Discovery and Mobile Intelligence Services, Cross-Operator Services, Privacy Management and Neustar Value-Added Services.

At the Mobile World Congress (News - Alert) 2010, Neustar introduced its Mobile Barcode Clearinghouse Services that enable advertisers and enterprises to expand the reach and their targeting capabilities using 2D barcodes.

In November 2010, the company announced  its third quarter results ending September 2010. The company reported an 11 percent increase in revenue from the third quarter of 2009 to $130.5 million. Its net income also increased 22 percent from the third quarter of 2009 to $29.9 million.
